Clinton moved from Carnarvon WA to the Tamworth District in 2000 to be
near his father Rex. Clinton met his partner and wife Jodie here and
they have made a home for their family of 7 on the outskirts of Tamworth.
He attended TAFE New England campus with the intention of becoming a motor
vehicle painter. An opportunity arose to paint some caravans for a
caravan shop which led to working in repairs, maintenance and even
construction of a caravan from scratch in his own time. At 21 foot
long unit with all amenities this really gave him the desire to create more.
He moved on to working at a local engineering shop to gain real experience
at welding and steel construction. A local buisnessman approached him
to convert an ex-government library bus into a self-contained motorhome.
It was then that Capital Caravans came into being.
With support from his wife Jodie, help from Rex, a job to do and a mate
named Mick, Clinton set to work making a home out of a bus and a buisness
out of what he loves doing - working in his own workshop.
Building and repairing caravans whether they have had an accident, storm
damage or just tired out makes every day different and gives Clinton a sense
of pride to see his work completed.
