Frequently Asked Questions

Should I fill my caravan water tanks before I start travelling?

Yes, it's a good idea to fill your caravan water tanks before you start travelling. This will give you enough water for drinking, cooking and cleaning while you're on the road. Full tanks will also help with weight distribution and stability on the road.

Should I stop and check over my caravan at intervals while driving?

You should stop every 100kms during the first 400kms of travel to check wheel nut tensions and complete a once-over check of your RV. Beyond that, it’s a good idea to stop every 2-3 hours on long journeys for a break.

How can I make sure my belongings stay secure during travel?

Put lose items in secure cupboards and drawers while you’re driving and use plastic items rather than glass. Invest in non-slip matting to place inside your storage areas or make use of plastic containers to stow in cupboards and under beds.

Should I travel with my caravan blinds and screens up or down?

When it comes to your caravan, prevention is key. To avoid unnecessary damage to your blinds and screens, they should be secured in the open position. This will help prevent damage to the springs and mechanisms.
